EBay Selling Account Set Up by Vickie Sayce
If you are ready to start your own home business with eBay, you can get a selling account going in just a few minutes. To get started, all you need is a bank account or credit card, a computer, and an internet connection. Visit eBay's website, and sign up for an account. Choose a username that you feel best describes your new business, or use your new business's name. Try to make it as simple as possible, however, so that your potential bidders will be able to easily find you.
When you have chosen a username and confirmed your e-mail address, you will need to visit the selling section on eBay. You can do so by clicking on the selling section on the top right-hand corner of eBay's home page. Once there, you will be asked for your name, address, and bank account or credit card information. You will also be asked for your PayPal address, if you have one. When this information is all entered, you can start selling immediately.
However, you may want to do a few other things before you get started with selling. Sellers have a lot of ways to customize their appearance on eBay, starting with their about me page. Your about me page is a place where you can offer your visitors more information about you, your eBay home business, and your business policies. You can talk about your children and family, your interests, or just outline information like whether or not you accept returns, and what you do to keep your customers happy. Giving your buyers a window into your home life can often build a stronger connection between you and your customers, which can earn you more business, and more repeat customers.
You can also customize your auctions to match your about me page, or to just stand out from the other auctions. Using basic HTML, you can change your auction's background color, font style and size, and font colors. Or, if you really want to get into customizing your auctions, you can use an auction template made specifically for eBay. Many sellers offer easy to use templates right on eBay for you to purchase, but if your budget is tight, you can look for some free eBay auction templates on the internet. Quite a few websites offer free templates and free help with auction templates, so you can spruce up your listings without spending any extra money.
Once you have customized some of the available features that eBay offers its sellers, you can get started selling whenever you want. List a few items with your auction templates and see how it goes. Make sure to include a link to your about me page so your bidders can read more about your, your home business, and your customer service policies. Then, you can sit back and start enjoying the fruit of your labors. In no time, you will have built a success home business using eBay!

Cheap Ways To Promote Your eBay Home Business
Cheap Ways To Promote Your eBay Home Business by Vickie Sayce
When you are first starting out with a new home business on eBay, marketing can make the difference in whether or not you succeed. But money can be tight when you are just getting started, and even tighter if you're a stay at home mom will little resources to spend. Marketing your eBay home business doesn't have to be costly, however. With a little time and some effort, you can get your eBay business noticed without spending much money in the process.
Pay Per Click Advertising
Pay per click advertising is a popular method of advertising that only charges you when a potential buyer clicks on your link. Many different advertising agencies offer a form of pay per click advertising, but Google AdWords is perhaps the most well known. Google AdWords offers you a minimum of just $10 for and advertising campaign, and you get to choose the price you are willing to pay for specific keywords. They also walk you through every step of the process, so you have nothing to be confused about.
Banner Advertising
Banner advertising on websites that you frequent can be fairly inexpensive, as well. This type of advertising is usually paid for monthly, with some websites charging as little as $5 per month to put your advertisement in their rotation. Websites that you visit often, or that focus on the same type of items that your eBay store is offering, are the best websites to sign up for banner advertising with.
Paid Blog Posting
Some blog authors will take commission directly from you to post a blog about your eBay business on their website. The benefits of paying someone to write a blog post about your company are numerous. For starters, they don't necessarily have to disclose that what they are typing is an advertisement, which means their visitors can view the blog as an endorsement of your website, rather than a marketing plot. Secondly, blogs have a tendency to pass around links to other websites that frequent them often, which means you can pay to have your business blogged about on one site, and end up having your eBay store linked on over a dozen websites. Not bad for one blog post!
Promote, Promote, Promote!
Add your eBay store link to the signature on any account that you have for forums. Every time you post, you will be passively sharing a link to your store, as well. You can also include your link at the bottom of every e-mail, post it on your MySpace or other social networking profile, and put a link in your instant messaging program's profile. Anywhere that you can copy and paste your link, do it! The more exposure your business gets, the more sales you'll stand to make. If you are a frequent poster on forums, social networking sites, or other online communities, it never hurts to pass around that you have your own home business going. Friends and family may stop by and make a purchase just to support you.
